Flower and Bone

For Erika

Silty, sexy, salty earth

to what do we owe
to Springs’ rebirth;
Whose times’ come early?
Whose frost too harsh,
whose soul tiptoes free
from love deep, but sparse
“Pick me” for the trip,
to heaven’s lush marsh;
I’m so light without skin,
and the Winter was harsh
