Summer Break

The day is long,

My attention short

Cample$$ moms must

create the original sport.

The backyard beckons,

Squirrels, crows & kids intermingle,

I daydream of the bliss

Of when I was single.

Water balloons soar

Tickling petals off my roses

In a rainbow of rubber

Tears-yes, but no bloody noses

The bikes leave the shed

They stay parked by each other

Get on them and GO-PLEASE

“And wait for your brother!”

Good clean fun brings joy

Glowingly happy kids brings me hope

But damn their energetic

 Didn’t we just legalize dope?

The music is thumping….

Or is the delicate matter of my brain

If I could wish for one thing

It’s a June without Rain!
